    Please use this thread to talk about mod suggestions, testing, more testing, bug reporting, etc.

    The server is Online!
    Requirements:
    Java 8 64 Bit!, Client 2 GB Min, PermGen does not need to be changed as Java 8 Dynamically changes this in the background now and is not used.

    What my client settings look like:

    If you Java Location is Program Files (x86) then that means your using 32 Bit version and you need to install 64 and get it from Program Files once installed.

    Testing Phase 1:
    • Explore the world a bit, ore generation is not set correctly yet.
    • Use random mods and build some machine setups. Since we are lacking testers please help test multiple mods even give a chance for you to learn some the mods you never used before.
    • Please don't spawn items that should not be spawned. If they seem odd or have broken texture / name their more likely items that should not be spawned and might or will crash the server.

    I have no idea what you have planned to add to the pack, but I would really love it if Custom NPC's would be in there, also Computercraft but I assume that is already in there.

    We might just go for opencomputers rather then computercraft. Mainly because of security and performance. It's also a bit more enjoyable feature wise to assemble.

    I can look into custom NPC's but unless something changed it was more suited for creative world servers.

    Alright, looks like OpenComputers is pretty much the same so that will be fine :) I just need some incentive to learn coding better :p Dont really know anything I would like to code IRL so never bothered to learn. Custom NPCs is awesome, it adds "life" to a city, like guards, store clerks or just random population going around town doing their own thing, its a lot of fun. I dont know if its more suited to creative or not, I used it in survival.

    How is the NPC's created and what do they do? I have no clue never used it myself. I just know long time ago description suggested was for more creative servers.

    You make special tools, I think there are 2-4 tools that do different things. One for creating an npc and editing it, one for scripting behaviours for the npc, one for creating pathing etc. I think they were very easy to make, sticks and bread or something, probably customizable. The tools looked like wooden shovel and hoe or something. There are also a lot of items to equip the npc's with, just for looks I think. The stats they have is something you have to edit with one of the tools. Like how much health they have, how much damage they do and so on, but you could probably enforce a rule as to only have them neutral or something only to be used to populate town or something.

    Some cool uses would be to make a bandit camp and have some bandits do random raids on the town every now and then and have them fight the guards or something, just for the cool-factor of it, add some life to the world. (this is something Etho has done in his modded lets play recently).

    Edit: Oh and you were asking what the NPC's do. They do nothing at first. You have to tell them to do stuff. Like, for example make an NPC for a store in the city, have him stand behind the counter until a certain time of day, and then having the NPC go to their house or bedroom somewhere to go sleep, and get up again in the morning and go back to the counter. Stuff like that. They could be moving around in the store too, the options are essentially limitless.

    I will look into it but after talking to people about it for a bit it sounds like this is a for sure no mod to install on a normal server. They said it's suppose to be for creative usage servers. Adding quests hand 10 bread in for 100 emeralds etc. They said it's sadly also quite taxing you set waypoints etc.

    They said if normal players could use any the tools you pretty much can completely cheat in the game and said it's the job of an Admin to setup these NPC's.

    I think this is a mod worth checking out wayyy down the road say when massive city is created to maybe populate it. But because the risks and performance and such. I don't think it would fit the server quite at this time. I hope you understand.

    Was not planning on any Modpacks. I can check it out but we actually make our own since we could never grow in the future relying on a FTB pack.

    This mod sadly is a lot of fun and great for a couple of friends and personal use. This thing is also one the worst crashing mods I have ever played with. Ohhh boy this one is a really bad one where MCEDIT is required a lot of times to fix someones mess. I'm going to have to say no for this one. It's also not very performance friends flying cities in the sky hehe.

    BluePower-1.7.10-0.2.928-universal - The hell it's exactly like project red...... I thought it was Project Blue or something I derped.
    ElectricalAge_BETA-1.9_r46 - Crashing unstable.
    Fossils_Archeology_Revival-1.7.10_Build-7.1 - Way to many generations via world, ore for such a small feature to the game sadly. Maybe we can bring it in another way down the road.

    Are we hard set on MapWriter for the map system? Would it be able to toggle MapWriter/Rei's Minimap for our minimap solution?

    Yes you will be able to later on. They will be both installed and you can switch back and forth through the client. But not right away a lot closer till launch.

    RF Tools being removed. It's pretty much the new Mystcraft digital. Pretty neat not suited for us though.

    Did every config file. Though we might missed something here and there but we are slowly getting all the puzzles to fit and tweaking it.
